Mrs. Christina McGowan

I was born and raised in Hampton, VA. I graduated from Bethel High School and attended Christopher Newport University in Newport News, VA. I earned a Bachelor's in Child Psychology and an Elementary Teaching License while there. I have 5 wonderful children: a son that is a freshan, playing football at Barton College, a daughter that is a senior at Richlands High School, a beautiful 3 year old little girl that is full of energy, a bonus daughter that is an awesome teacher in Wilmington, NC and a bonus son that works hard as a Lineman.

Experience

I have been teaching for 17 years in several different states, spanning several different different grade levels. My teaching career began in Oceanside, CA teaching 1st grade and then Pre-K. I moved to Hampton, VA and taught 4th grade and then Kindergarten. My next move took me back to CA. There I taught Kindergarten in Escondido. My journey ended in NC. Here I have taught 2 years of 1st grade at Richlands Primary, a year of 5th grade here at Bell Fork, 6 years of Kindergarten, another year in 5th (where I had the wonderful opportuniy to teach some of my Kindergarteners again) and have now been back in Kindergarten for the past 2 years. And I LOVE it here at Bell Fork!!! GO BULLDOGS!!
